Who better than Anna Sui to take the stark predilection overwhelming the runway and turn out bright, fun, fabulous clothes? Known for her invigorating runway demonstrations she showed up with colorful prints and patterns, varying global influences, and historical remembrances. The standout theme was a folkloric twist on contemporary digs. Not necessarily an easy act to pull off she did so with a stew of shift dresses, rompers and short skirts reminiscent of the German dirndl. Sui put a new spin on multihued tribal-like prints, a far cry from the muted tones saturating the upcoming season. The fine details woven into each piece like the Victorian-like hanging fringe, velvet frock coats, and the 80's style shoulders were entirely Sui redolent. Bold jewelry and overstated hats kept the overall look fresh and modern. If the drab state of the world has you down than this collection will undoubtedly be a quick pick-me-up.
