Chicago Fashion Week 2006 ended with the finale show on Friday, October 20, 2006. Cocktails were served and everyone seemed a little tipsy and eager for the show to begin. Attendants were in a joyful mood and ready to see some innovative clothing lines. The venue was fairly small considering the type of collections that were showcased, but all in all it was a great place to showcase Chicago's budding fashion industry and emerging talent. The show was presented by models in scantly lingerie, ruffled mini skirts, pieces in extravagant colors, and models covered in body art done by Mario Ink. The first line to brace the catwalk was Wild Flowers, a collection of lingerie. The silk lingerie in shades of grey was somewhat soft in color with a few bright tones like blue and purple bras with matching panties. The models looked very sexy but the lingerie was relatively ordinary and seemed very accessible.
Kangan Fashion
Kangan Fashion was a mix of ethnic and western style. Detailed Indian jeweled tunic style tops, Mandarin collar tunic tops, and exotic African prints bedazzled the collection. There was no shortage of gems, jewels, and sequins in this collection.
Amber Lynn
Amber Lynn's collection was a mixture of sexy and sophisticated pieces. It was reminiscent of the very clean, prim, and proper style of the woman from the 1950's combined with a vintage sexy but feminine pinup girl attitude. A common theme in her collection was the pencil skirts and feminine dresses.
Steve Rosengard
Steve Rosengard's spring 2006 collection featured very large hats that were predominantly in red and white. One of the major pieces was a huge flowing black dress with a long train.
Flayva Fashion was a very beautiful line. It had a very cultural aspect to it. The men's shirts were unbuttoned with a lot of patterns. Some of the belt buckles were intentionally open on the pants to give an undone look. The collection dominated in shades of orange and green for a very urban yet tribal feel.
Brit showed a very trendy look on the runway. Proper dresses came in neutral browns, beiges, grays, and plaids.
Horst Couture was a very unique clothing line. A lot of felt was used to create this line. It was very colorful which resembled tie-dye prints. The most memorable piece was a long felt dress with a train in black and red.
James De Colon was the largest presenter who showed 3 collections during that night.
