ReadyMech - Free, Printable Paper Toys you can Build

ReadyMech is a Fwis project that seems to take some inspiration from the vinyl 'toy' trend that's going on right now. Of course a toy that simply sits on a bookshelf isn't a toy...they really should be referred to as 'mass produced sculpture art' or something like that. Toys are things that little kids have fun with. Just my opinion.

With ReadyMech, Fwis takes the mass production to a new level - infinite inventory (as opposed to intentionally limited inventory to drive up prices and demand). All you need is a printer, a sheet of letter size paper, and some double sided tape or glue. Use cardstock or heavy matte paper for a more permanent toy...I suppose you can even use heavy gloss if you wanted to.

All the toys are distributed in PDF format with vector graphics, so theoretically you could scale these up to bigger sheets of paper, although I'm sure structural stability will start to be an issue as you increase the dimensions. Maybe try mounting the sheet on thin mat-board before assembly for bigger versions...that should work well enough.

Check the images below for a sample the Tentacolypse toy pre- and post-construction.
