Big props go to Compression SF, Formation Records, and Lower Haters for brining The World of Drum and Bass to SF this Friday...it was crazy! This was probably the best jungle lineup to roll through San Francisco since I moved here in 2001. Jungle luminaries like ShyFX and DJ SS were in the building, as well as John B, Fabio, LTC (Ladies Take Control), Danny the Wildchild, and many more.

When we showed up LTC was on - I'd never seen live before and they were pretty impressive. They're pretty fresh to the scene compared to old-school legends like SS and ShyFX, but they definitely know how to work a room. I love their style too - they pull off the streetwear look while still keeping their femininity...DJ B Traits even had the new Kid Robot Dunny hoodie on! You know she's doing it right when she can rock that hoodie, baggy jeans, and clean pink & green Nikes and not look like a boy.

After LTC, ShyFX killed it as usual with a new school jump up / ragga set. Bubbly and fun without getting as flamboyant as the early/mid 90's style, his new take on the old sound is always welcome. Around this point 1015 started to get a little crowded (and I started to get a little drunk) so we just started wandering around. Checked out some of the hip hop upstairs then saw Danny the Wildchild downstairs. Danny still has his turntablism down hardcore - he was beat juggling like crazy and cutting it up perfectly. Finished up with John B then decided to crash and head home.
