Comic-book artist Paul Pope will be creating a collection of hoodies, t-shirts, and pants for the men's DKNY Jeans line. Known for his lush and aggressive brush strokes, Pope was chosen by DKNY because his work appeals to a certain demographic: fashion-forward urban professionals. Translation: People of all races and ages who enjoy urban culture and are devoted to emulating it. As far as design goes, the company wanted Pope to focus on developing an original camouflage print for some of the pieces in the collection.
This isn't Pope's first time at trying his hand in fashion: Last year, Diesel hired him to create a line of design silk-screens and window displays for its Los Angeles store. Also, Kidrobot tapped him to create a few vinyl toys. The line will debut this Fall.
