Streetwear meets sophistication is the underlying theme of the menswear line eubiQ-ny. Designer Shirley Lee pairs classic style and functionality with a touch of attitude to create each collection. EubiQ-ny (pronounced yoo-bik n y) will move onto its fourth collection this fall with confidence you'll be making room in your closet for its refined fashions.
After a short stint in the corporate world Lee sought a new career which started out as crafting custom designs for family and friends. It eventually blossomed into what you see now, an "infusion of a minimalist's sensibility and a streetwear bent." Lee has a knack for creating uncomplicated pieces trimmed with clever details making this a line for the understated dresser.
As her third collection hit the streets for the spring/summer 2008 season, Lee remained faithful to her original design philosophy. This line was created with the New Yorker in mind. Imagine the man with a fast-paced lifestyle reflective of his energetic environment. You can expect to see pieces one can easily transition from day to night. Lightweight slacks that merely need a shoe change to take you from the office to the street and easily layered tees keep the line true to its roots. The Militia jacket, a past favorite was reintroduced with some "added twists." Clean lines and muted color choices kept things versatile. The collection also features a vast selection of outerwear destined to become a wardrobe staple.
The name eubiQ-ny derives from ubique, the Latin root word of ubiquitous. Lee hopes this definition will hold true to the future of eubiQ-ny. With a brand already making waves in its genre, it looks as though this designer has a very reasonable expectation. Check out more at:
