House of Muses - Luxury Handbags by Lea Muses
Who hasn’t been inspired by someone or something? In the world of fashion, almost everyone has dared to find a stimulus in another’s creative work. How many of us, though, can claim to be a fully-fledged fashion deity? Lea Muses, founder and designer of The House of Muses, takes this title as if she herself were the daughter of the Greek God Zeus.
The House of Muses, a contemporary accessories label created in 2003, is expected to be the next big thing in all things fashion. In fact, some may say it’s already taken the title. What began as a talented trio made up of a model, photographer, and a choreographer equipped with a fierce trunk of “wild props and accessories” used on various editorials, has fused into a full-line of incomparable, swanky handbags. The House of Muses is a bonafide “hot ticket” thanks to the approval of Betsy Johnson, Robert Verdi, and Lloyd Boston. You can even catch Betsy Johnson donning her own House of Muses bag.
So what can you expect from Lea Muses designs? Not a rubber stamped logo of trivial content, that’s for sure. Lea Muses herself can’t be described this way. She boasts a notable resume as the face of several companies and their products including the Apple iPod, American Express, and Glamour Magazine . Along with her extensive experience in modeling she has also apprenticed with handbag designer Anthony Luciano in New York. Put that all together and Lea Muses has more to offer than just a simplistic view of brilliancy. The configurations used to create these one of a kind pieces are unprecedented. You will undoubtedly feel like the hottest chick on your block while sporting your Muses bag. Not to mention, you will not feel like you’ve jumped on the bandwagon of the latest fad.
These bags are so exclusive in their style it’s backbreaking to decide which one is the most magnetic. The Muses Modernist Bag (featured on the right) is so hot it’s hard to keep your eyes off of it! Its unique shoulder strap even detaches into a belt. The appeal of this bag alone is enough to have you salivating for more. Luckily, it looks as if there is more on its way besides just handbags. Miss Muses tells Grooveeffect she has plans to expand into a lifestyle brand in the near future offering clothing, shoes, and housewares.
Besides her super fly designs, what’s even more alluring about Lea Muses may be her realistic, down to earth attitude toward the future goals of The House of Muses. When asked to forecast the fate of The House of Muses, Miss Muses said: “I am more interested in building the legacy of the brand than becoming an over commercialized product company. These days there are so many celebrity driven brands that are only around for the quick money and mass-produced products. The House of Muses is about art, and living in a constant state of love for life through creativity. That mission is life long for me so there is no rush to be a pop star. I am already so rich in happiness, although it would be nice to own a few properties around the world and have an unlimited supply of chocolate and champagne.” I think anyone can drink to that!
