Men's Denim Fit Guide - Updated for Spring / Summer 2006
Let's face it. You're grown up now and your wardrobe has to grow up with you. Maybe baggy or phat pants were your style before, but things have changed and your style has changed with it. The good news is there will always be room for denim in your life. It's casual, comfortable, durable, and really sexy if worn with the right pair of shoes. With a blazer, fitted shirt, and dress shoes you can even dress it up enough for professional situations.
If you are the casual kind of guy and need some room to move, then the relaxed fit is perfect for you. Your laidback personality spills into your style of clothing. You like a roomy fit, but still want your backside to look perky. These aren't necessarily 'baggy' jeans, but they give that loose look without wearing them 8 inches below your waist.
If you are a looking for a more fitted look go for the straight leg. It's not as wide as the relaxed fit, but still comfortable enough to move in. It's perfect for casual work attire and going out at night. It gives a more defined shape and depending on the jean it can help to make you look less bottom heavy than relaxed fit.
For you slender guys who want a really fitted look, check out the slim fit jeans. These are designed so that there's not a lot of extra fabric in the leg which helps these jeans to show off your shape. Slim fit doesn't work for everyone though - even if you're in good shape you still might not feel comfortable in these, and if you have a few extra pounds it's best to look elsewhere.
Why get designer denim over a cheaper one?
You may look at the price tag on one of these sexy essentials and look away, but what you are looking at is the price it takes to get the perfect fit, the best quality, and all the raw details.
Jeans are also very low maintenance. They are machine washable and easy to fold and store away in your drawer. They don't need to be taken to the dry cleaner or hung up in your closet. And if used with care, they will almost last forever.
But we understand that $150+ isn't affordable for everyone...even us here at Grooveeffect have a hard time justifying a wardrobe full of designer jeans! Our budget section will show you some jeans that have designer looks but at prices under $100...some even go as low as $70.
