We checked out the first ever Treasure Island Music Festival this weekend and we're happy to say the event lived up to the hype. There was a huge crowd, but the festival area on Treasure Island was easily big enough to hold everyone. There were a ton of vendors keeping us supplied, and the musical lineup was insane!

Of course MIA killed it, and DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist did an insane 8x4 set with effects using only 7" records (8x4 being eight turntables and four mixers). Flosstradamus was another standout.

The visual element was also on point. When the sun set the lights really took it to another level, changing the vibe to an almost rave-like / Burning Man experience. The VIP area had a large set of bleachers setup which really gave you an incredible view of the stage, crowd, and the San Francisco skyline in the background.

Definitely a dope show and we're looking forward to next year.

I was at this show. M.I.A. blew everyone off the stage. I still have no idea why she wasn't the headliner. Big mistake by the people organizing the event.
