Not exactly your average suburb born teen, Sean Terribilini, or S-T3RRA is already making progress in the world of electronic music and night life, having djed for the past two years and now booking shows worldwide. December 4th, he will accompany veterans Designer Drugs, The Toxic Avenger, and other Bay Area local electronic artists at Oh Snap!'s event at the Westin Hotel.

Who are you, how old are you, and where are you from?
My name is Sean Terra, I am at the tender age of 18 and I am from SuburbiaLand (West Menlo Park) California

How long have you been Djing and why did you start?
I've been DJing for about 2 years, before that I had been playing music for quite some time. I was 9 when I got my first guitar and bass. A couple years back I became interested in the stylings of Electronica. Eventually I started DJing because I quickly became addicted to the feeling of a crowd moving to my sound.

What type of parties have you been playing and how do you feel about getting to play with Toxic Avenger and Designer Drugs?
Ive played pretty much everything, house parties, gatherings, illegal raves, etc. The most fun/sketchy gig I ever did was in the back of a semi-truck. Let me tell you that when you get 70 sweaty and drug-induced teenagers dancing, there's no stoppin them. That truck swayed back and forth for about 3 hours until the police finally broke it up. I dont think the cops liked electronic music.
Most recently Ive played shows in Los Angeles and a few other spots all around Cali. Right now I feel absolutely amazing and humbled about getting to play with two of the Godliest acts in the scene today. Not to mention that Designer Drugs and Toxic are some of the coolest guys Ive ever met.

What do you enjoy most about the SF electro scene?
What I enjoy the most about the SF scene is the 'vibe', everyone is all about good times and keeping the party going. Combining these elements in one of the most beautiful and diverse cities in the world makes for some truly epic nights.

Do you do remixes strictly or also original tracks?
I do indeed remix but have only released bootleg versions. Right now I have 3 official remixes in the works that will get into listener's heads pretty soon! I promise!
But lately I have been releasing mostly original tracks that I am working on for my first EP. It's gonna be straight eargasmic, trust me ; )

Who are your influences?
Oh man, too many to list, but to name a few:
Daft Punk
Metallica
Toxic Avenger
The Ramones
Soulwax....

What are you doing currently with your music?
Right now I am trying to define my musical style, Im still young and reckless so who knows what will come out of my grimy synth fingers. I just wanna make music that people can grind and get down to, ya feel?

What are your plans for the upcoming year?
It looks like playing some shows in Australia and France may be in my future!
Going 'down under' sounds awesome and playing with a bunch of crazy french fuckers sounds cool too!

What do you want your listeners to take from your music and live performance?
I want people to love and live it up to the fullest extent, just get lost in the moment. Coming soon to your local dance party!

How can this kid profess to know anything about SF's electro scene when he isn't even old enough to get into any of the parties? Please cover DJs who have more than two years experience, I've been DJing since this kid was 7. Literally.

Well thankfully in these times age doesn't really have much of an influence on getting in places. Sean simply reached out to grooveeffect and asked for press covrege, anyone can do the same and well evaluate if its right for our site. He's playing with Designer Drugs who we've covered before and are playing this friday.

Also, having just turned 19 and being a staff writer for Grooveeffect I would like to think I am a testament to age being irrelavent.

Cheers!

I've seen Sean before and let me just say you should listen to his tracks before dissing him, even tho he's just 18...he can really keep a party going. This kid might blow up, y'all are going to be saying you saw him "back then"

I am a strong believer that age has no relevance now a days, any bedroom producer can be churning out great tracks and move a dancefloor regardless of age.
