Many collectors from Fifty24SF were disappointed on August 10 when they heard that "The Faces of Life" by El Mac were officially sold out. The series was scheduled to premiere August 6 and continue until August 27. Fifty24SF had sent out an email letting their mailing list know of how they can still purchase the graffiti murals. Even though this may have been a short let down for a few, El Mac has generously offered to open his commission wait list to interested collectors.
Since the mid-90's, Mac has been internationally known for his murals and techniques. "The Faces of Life" collection uses basic color schemes such as black, white, and gray to illustrate an impressionistic manner of art. The entire collection was created on canvases using absolutely nothing but spray paint with fine detail.
As you may notice, most of the murals are young women. Each of these different portraits consisted of ethereal women. Mac decided to study the faces of his own friends. At the launch of the first show for "The Faces of Life" Mac decided to bring some of the women along including his own girlfriend that was illustrated.
