An emerging unsigned band called Fenech-Soler is exploding in Austin at SXSW playing shows nearly every night drawing impressive crowds.

After years of DIY work in their quiet homes in the UK, two brothers (Ross and Ben Duffy) and two friends (Dan Soler and Andy Lindsay) and created Fenech-Soler, (no, not French, they're British). The band is as creative as their name (which they chose because nothing else would come up on google search), combining a full live band and vocals with the qualities of a dj and electronic sound.

The band is known for achieving equivalent success is both England and the states, something generally hard to achieve with the different tastes. Fenech-Soler cites a variety of influences, ranging from Daft Punk, Hot Chip, and The Chemical Brothers, to both old school and mainstream hip hop music like The Neptunes and Timbaland.

Fenech-Soler has gained a lot of attention from their single and music video "Paper Romance" with tourmates Groove Armada. They also remixed Marina and the Diamonds "Hollywood", a hot track from another emerging artist.

2010 is the band's first year at South by Southwest and they love it. Following SXSW is a few California dates, followed by Paris and then a UK tour. The band is extremely familiar with London and has played at nearly every venue in the city. Though socially they have stayed on the outside looking in of the city scene, being more of country boys, "we can make louder noise until later at night" the band says about their hometown.

With another upcoming single and an album in the works, the band seems to have overlooked their success, when asked what their future goals where, they were only able to think as far as the next week, brainstorming breakfast spots while in San Francisco.

"It started with us just messing with the computer and now it's actually turned into something."
